Gaza Central ("we," "our," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate our journalism and never sell or share it commercially.
We collect information in the following ways:
If you submit a news tip or contact us as a potential source, we treat that communication with the highest level of confidentiality. We use end-to-end encrypted tools. We will not disclose source identities under any circumstances, including legal demands. We recommend using our SecureDrop portal for the most sensitive submissions.
We use collected information solely to: deliver our newsletter, process subscriptions, respond to your inquiries, and improve our website functionality. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.
We do not sell your data. We share it only with essential service providers (our email delivery provider, our payment processor) who are contractually bound to protect it. We share nothing with governments, advertisers, or data brokers.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Newsletter unsubscribe links are present in every email. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
We do not use tracking cookies. Our analytics tool (Plausible) is cookieless. We may use a single session cookie for logged-in subscriber functionality only.
We retain subscriber records for as long as you maintain a subscription, plus a reasonable archival period. Contact form submissions are retained for 2 years unless you request deletion.
